CUSTOM CONTROL PANEL AND MOTOR CONTROL PANEL MANUFACTURING
We are the turnkey solution for installation, maintenance, and
repairs for SCADA and automation systems.
Look around-you may not have immediately noticed it but our everyday lives in the modern world are run, managed and controlled by control panels. these fabricated panels are so invisible to us because they’re so common-so prevalent, in fact, that we take them for granted.

But businesses know that, without control panels in their processing and manufacturing plants, the most basic of functions and operations would come to a screeching halt. And it’s precisely because of their integral role and positioning that control panel manufacturing is neither a one-size-fits-all solution nor is it just any fabricator that can claim an expertise in custom control panel manufacturing.
The fabrication of electrical control panels is doubly complicated because it involves the intersection of user-friendly design, highly complex technical knowledge, and experience with the materials required to build and construct a safe and durable unit.
That’s a tall order, especially for an industry that is already heavily watched over, with requirements to meet high standards of safety and protocols that call for compliance.
But, when done right, by certified professionals like Telstar, a new array of options becomes available. Control panels, especially a well-designed motor control center, can become the cornerstone of your business’s operations, tailored to the specific functions that you perform every day and calibrated to your plant’s unique environment.
NOW ASK YOURSELF: DOES CONTROL PANEL MANUFACTURING SOUND LIKE SOMETHING YOU CAN DO WITHOUT?

WHAT IS CONTROL PANEL AND MOTOR CONTROL PANEL MANUFACTURING?
Motor control panel manufacturing is both a process and an end product. if you’re working with professionals like telstar in their fabrication, a transparent and client-focused process should lead to a successful, durable and high-quality end product.
Control panel manufacturers are those that produce electrical control panels, which can be as simple as junction boxes all the way up to motor control centers, PLC control cabinets, control consoles, relay panels, pneumatic control panels, analytical and sampling panels, SCADA panels, as well as special enclosures like:
- Carbon Steel Enclosures
- Aluminum Enclosures
- Purged Enclosures
- Outdoor Shielded / Insulated Enclosures
- Heated and Cooled Enclosures
- Humidity Controlled Enclosures
- And More
Companies like Telstar that have a UL 508A certification run by UL standards, which means they produce and develop materials, testing components, and systems in a manner that is safe for consumers. Following these standards is also good for the welfare and health of workers, and supports sustainable development.
During the manufacturing process, custom control panel manufacturing calls for technicians, draftsmen, designers and engineers that understand both a client’s custom needs and specs as well as industry standards.
ORDER ASSESSMENT, CREATION AND ENTRY
A team of technicians, engineers and drafters will work with the client to assess their needs as well as their facility’s electrical power capabilities, understanding what needs to be controlled by the control panel and what sorts of environments it will be exposed to.
An order will be created in the contractor’s database. All other data will be entered, mapped to the client’s project.
DESIGN AND PROJECT GENERATION
This is where the most crucial discovery and drafting occurs.
The team will review estimated panel components and revise to create blank panel drawings in some form of drafting or panel design software. Think of these like a blank floor plan where individual elements or components are then filled in.
These custom control panel layout drawings outline the location of all panel components, as well as the connections between these and the point to point wiring diagrams. Teams of engineers and designers will create project details that include these details, the enclosure layout, power schematics, control schematics, details on wiring and a control panel bill of materials.
PRE-PRODUCTION REVIEW
Once the previous stage is done, the team can quickly review all that is needed on the project and begin working with their own suppliers and vendors, making sure that materials and designs will be done by deliverable dates.
START OF PRODUCTION
The start of production may include these three separate aspects.

Preparing wires for assembly

Preparing nameplate or terminal labels

Final assembly
ENSURING QUALITY CONTROL
The only way to make sure everything syncs up is to test it.
At this point, contractors will focus on making sure that each control panel has been assembled according to the initial design drawings. This includes the physical as well as electrical panels, point-to-point wiring testing, terminal torque testing, and function testing.
You’ll notice that each step leads to more data that is crucial and is used and acted on in the next stage. For example, design and project generation data is collected and reviewed and used in the production stage.
A combination of experienced engineers/technicians, powerful software and automated production equipment allow for a smoother, more efficient flow between stages.

CREATING A CUSTOM PANEL FABRICATION THAT MATCHES YOUR CURRENT NEEDS AND FUTURE PLANS
Custom control manufacturing and MCC manufacturing are some of the best ways to move forward with your plant’s diverse and complex operations. Custom units can bear the load of the work you plan to carry out and the instrumentations and controls can be designed to align with your business’s niche industry. A chemical processing plant, for example, would call for different specs on a control panel bill of materials than one within a plant focused on gas and electric.
We understand the needs of your niche and can help create a custom panel that suits your business format, processing and operations.
HIGH-QUALITY SAFETY AND
MANUFACTURING STANDARDS
As a state-certified contractor, we adhere to UL-508A standards for industrial control panels. These requirements make sure that, as a baseline, your motor control manufacturing project has certain design aspects that are mandatory.
These UL standards can include requirements for enclosures, documentation, details on intended use, adequacy, and quality of the controls and protective devices. This ensures that, once we’re done testing and your equipment has been verified and validated, you and your team will be able to operate these units safely.
